The Podkarpackie province is of the few provinces in Poland, where you can practice all kinds of winter sports. There are countless ski slopes of varying difficulty, and cross-country routes, leading through places like picturesque landscape parks and national parks. There are numerous ice–rinks, and places where you can do classic and Scandinavian sledging and snowmobile. In the province, and especially in the Bieszczady, the season lasts from mid December until the end of March. The Bieszczady are a perfect recreation place for whole families, because adults as well as children may turn to professional instructors for help and hire ski guides, licensed by the Polski Związek Narciarski (the Polish Ski Association). Most lifts in the Podkarpackie are the t–bar or platter type, well lit, equipped with snow cannons and snowmobiles. Many lift and ice–rink operators have winter sports equipment for hire. Skiing, snow–boarding on the slopes of the Podkarpackie, cross–country running through snowy woods, cold wind blowing in your face as you skate or sledge, and the sleigh rides in the night, with torches burning, will make you remember the experience forever.
