Information has been make available: 01.10.2007 14:31
The List of the Monuments of History was created in 1994. Monuments of history are stationary antiques of great value to national culture. According to the cultural property protection and museums act, dated February 15 1962, a cultural property may be considered a monument of history by the president of the Republic of Poland, through a special executive order. The monuments of history are registered with the International Register of Cultural Property under Special Protection in case of war, based on the cultural property protection treaty, signed in Hague on May 14 1954. The status of the monument of history gives the right to special denotation on maps, ensures inclusion in important publications (books, albums and guides), and it is an important argument when trying to obtain funds for protection of the monument. In the Podkarpackie Province, the prestigious title of the Monument of History was given to two relics of culture: The Bernardine Monastery in Leżajsk, The Castle Complex in Łańcut.
